A LITTLE LOVE & FAITH.

Dorothea Lange: She views America's hardship in such a beautiful free way.

On Friday I went to the MoMa to see if her art work was there (it was!). Anyway, I needed some inspiration in life so I go to museums to get my mind off things. Little did I know, there was an exhibit of Andy Warhol's motion pictures. This later inspired me to watch Factory Girl (one of my favorite movies)! The museum is always a place to go to free yourself. I should have realized that years ago... Happy Monday!

sometimes i wish this city would sink the sea.

"it's better to die on your feet than live down on your knees..."

A beautiful night. A beautiful crowd. Tonight I was fortunate to see As Tall As Lions play one last time at the Highline Ballroom. They were an old time fave. from my past; a band whose music has strongly connected with me. It is sad to see bands break apart after being together for such a long time. Music has become so personal for me. I thank God for my good taste in music. I really do. I cannot stand the mainstream...it is weird, I know. Someday, maybe someday I will be able to meet my musical soulmate.

you used to have all the answers...

i want to find myself by the sea, in another's company by the sea.
i want to go out to the pier, gonna dive and have no fear.
because you, you just know, you just do.

lazy post. i surprisingly found out that the xx will be playing at the central park summerstage this sunday for free. and as i youtube'd (it's now a verb) "VCR" (my inspirational tune for the photo above; credit: unknown) i came across this lovely montage of Chloé's FW 2010/2011 runway show. which by the way i am obsessed with their perfume and all the neutral colors!

summer is almost ending and what a perfect way to end it by going to another countless outdoor concert. what summer outdoor concerts have you been to this year?

INSPIRATION--CAT POWER.

a woman with a powerful voice. i woke up this morning wanting and needing to hear her voice. odd, but true. i love cat power & always will. her personal style reminds me of the 90's grunge mixed with an androgynous touch. she inspires me in so many ways through her voice--if only i could play "I Don't Blame You" on the piano & sing... her breathy vocals is what has caught my attention at most. i am loving it.
